About

A parent resource, not a ranking.

These notes exist so a new parent in the East Bronx can learn how to tour, pack, say goodbye, and look up a New York license — without wading through ads.

Searching “daycare in the Bronx” dumps you into warehouses, wait-lists, and ads. We wanted the opposite: a quiet page of practical notes, then a short neighborhood reference so Country Club families are not starting from a blank map.

The two licensed group family day cares mentioned here — My Piccolo Mondo Child Care at 1466 Ohm Ave and Maria’s Piccolo Mondo Daycare at 1601 Ohm Ave — are listed because they are in this neighborhood, they publish a license you can look up, and they are the kind of small house many 10465 parents are actually looking for. That is not the same thing as a “best of” list.

What we write about

  • How to use the public NY OCFS child care search
  • What a Tuesday-morning tour actually shows you
  • First-week goodbyes, packing lists, illness, and big feelings
  • Two licensed Ohm Avenue homes, with addresses you can verify

Always tour. Always check the license. This guide does not score programs, invent Google ratings, or list every daycare in the Bronx. If a home is not on Ohm Avenue, it is simply outside the small map these notes were written for.
